A night at the races!

Get ready for a first at Harton Masonic Hall! On Saturday 19th September 2026, we are thrilled to host our very first Race Night. This promises to be an evening of thrilling entertainment and community spirit.

How you can get involved

Brethren, family, and friends are all invited to participate in numerous ways. You can sponsor a race, become the proud owner of a racehorse, or try your luck by carefully selecting the likely winner of each race. There will also be a raffle with exciting prizes to be won! Each of the 6 races can be sponsored by providing a magnificent prize worth about £20 – imagine your name at the top of the race card!

Horses for races 1 to 5 are already known and can be bought for just £5. There are no hidden fees for vets, trainers, or jockeys. If your horse wins, you'll receive the magnificent prize from the sponsor and any winnings from your bets. For Race 6, the cost of each horse is £10, and you can even choose a name (please keep it suitably polite).

Evening schedule and tickets

The hall doors will open at 6:15 pm, with the first race kicking off at 6:45 pm. Races 2 and 3 will take place at approximately 7:15 pm and 7:45 pm, allowing time to re-open the Tote and manage the finances. A delicious Pie and Pea supper will be served at approximately 8:05 pm, followed by Races 4 and 5 at around 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm. The raffle will be drawn at 9:45 pm, and the final race of the evening will commence at 10:05 pm.

The cost for this wonderful evening of entertainment is just £10 per ticket. Tickets must be purchased prior to the event, with all ticket monies being paid directly into the Hall Account.
